Sr Solution Architect – Digital Quality, Safety & Sustainability

In this role, you will:
Responsible for integrating business, information, and technology architecture to create application and analytical solutions for the Safety, Sustainability, Quality and Regulatory Compliance (QRC) business capability area and in some cases cross capability areas. The role collaborates with Business Analysts, Solution Engineers, Service Management Leads, other Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects and Business Intelligence (BI) Designers. This role is viewed as an expert in complex application and analytics environments, encompassing both business process understanding and technical expertise. Leads in developing innovative, technical solutions to important, complex strategic and operating problems. Has strong knowledge in business and technical functions that are touch points with their area of expertise. Provides technical consulting on complex projects. Acts as a source of direction, training and guidance for other team members. Is knowledgeable in industry best practices in their area of expertise and uses resources outside of K-C to deliver the end-to-end technical solutions.
Key Accountabilities
- Technical architect and leader of small to medium projects for a specific business capability or across multiple capabilities. Accountabilities across multiple functional and technical analytical areas with wide range of complexity.
- Accountable for leading the overall end-to-end design, including the detailed configuration that considers how to structure a segment solution based on requirements from the business, global and regional views, as well as the design of standard software configurations.
- Delivers solution delivery blueprints including but not limited to application diagrams, physical architecture, process diagrams, systems maps, service interfaces, technical interfaces, data modeling, integration planning, detailed build estimates.
- Translates non-functional and functional requirements into end-to-end solution designs, ensuring solution aligns with business goals and processes, uses and provides enterprise information consistently, integrates effectively with other applications, supports a common application environment and user interaction model, uses the common technology platform, and achieves enterprise level security, quality of service and scale.
- Collaborates with other Solution Architects, Enterprise Architecture BI Designers to ensure the solution fits within enterprise context.
- Manages engagements with vendors related to the evaluation, design, and delivery of business capabilities.
- Coordinates small to medium solution architecture implementations while leading design variances based upon business needs while ensuring artifacts are documented in enterprise architecture repository.
- Coordinates engagements with vendors as they relate to evaluation, design and delivery of business capabilities. Contributes to the evaluation and selection of software product standards and strategic direction.
- Participant in industry representation, policy formation, User Groups, and strategic direction.
- Mentor team members and consults/shares knowledge across the organization.
- Keeps abreast of industry trends and disseminate information within the organization.
- Ensures team applications are compliant with application disaster recovery and cyber security protocols.

Bachelor's degree in IT or related

A minimum of 5 years of continuous experience in software engineerin or solution architecture.

Experience in assessing commercial software packages, including configuration and implementation for digital capabilities used in product development, research laboratories, and engineering.

Experience working with Safety, Sustainability, Quality and Regulatory Compliance areas.
-
Experience with cross-platform and complex data architectures in a cloud environment, including API, interfaces, and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) concepts and practices.

Knowledge in tools like ETQ and SAS (Data)

Nice to have microsoft Azure experience.

Strong leadership skills and creative thinking to develop inventive solutions to solve business challenges.

Must be proficient with English (written and verbal).
